After a long trip up to Ballymoney the 6’s took the pitch at 2.25 standard for an away match.
Playing against the wind in the first half Hinch were punished by the boot of the Ballymoney out half with two quick penalties after Hinch infringements. From the next restart Hinch finally shook off the car journey, with good play from the forwards & clean ball Bishop was able to slip through a number of tackles, from this Elwood was able to receive the ball & drift past a couple of tackles & score below the posts.
Next to infringe were Ballymoney & with the penalty Andy Simpson was able to give Hinch three more points. Jonny Orr was next on the sore sheet after good work again by Bishop who was having a great time slipping on average 4/5 tackles every time he received the ball, Orr was in support to take the credit of the score. Now with a 7 point lead Hinch got back to their old ways & give away a further two penalties which the Ballymoney 10 gladly put over.

The second half was all one way traffic with Hinch holding onto the ball, Napier was distributing all line outs & Samuels was making a nuisance of himself in rucks & open play. Hinch were on the front food & with the wind in their back they were heading for the line.
With a number of plays & the forwards rumbling forward Bulk was on hand to barge his way over the line for the try. Simpson added the extras.
With more pressure from the pack the spaces were opening up for runners from the backs & with Orr getting his hands on the ball he was able to make it over for the last try of the day. Simpson added the extras. |
