When the news of Matt Williams resignation filtered through the question soon turned as to who would be appointed to take up the challenge as the new head coach of the Ulster team.
Brian's name was at the top of the list of possibles right from the start, and it was no surprise to those involved at Ballymacarn Park that he was finally chosen to take over at the helm of the Ulster team today.
Ballynahinch would like to pay tribute to Brian for all his hard work, enthusiasm, attention to detail, the boundless passion he has for the Hinch club and the players that he along with Derek Suffern and Dan Soper have developed into a successful squad.

This is the second time the Hinch have lost the services of Brian, back in 2005 he was recruited as "Skills Coach" to the national team by Eddie O'Sullivan.
As in 2005, the Hinch are delighted that Brian is moving onto greater things, we sincerely thank him for the contribution he has made to the development of our senior squad, and wish him every success in his new appointment.
We pledge Brian our full support in his endeavors. Ballynahinch's loss is Ulster's gain.
Stand Up for the Ulstermen.
